VALENTINE’S DAY

Happy Valentine’s Day! I wish you all so much happiness and love with your significant other, friends and family. If you’re single, don’t fret. Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to make some strawberry cupcakes and put in a romantic comedy or hit the mall for President’s Day sales. If you’re taken by the man or woman of your dreams, embrace each other and do something you all have never done before! Last Valentine’s Day, my boyfriend and I decided that a fancy dinner wasn’t what we were feeling. We knew all of our favorite restaurants would be super packed and probably have a preset menu. That prompted us to hit… IHOP. We were literally the only ones in the whole restaurant and had the nicest waiter. Post up with your boo and have a beautiful day.

Below are some photos that I took last Valentine’s Day at the Historic Pearl in downtown San Antonio.

PERSONAL BRAND

“You have to have some common sense when it comes to your personal brand. Personal branding suggests that success comes from self-packaging.”

What does your self-package hold? What are your likes, your dislikes, your hobbies, your interests, your favorite things?

What is your passion?

What do you see yourself accomplishing in the next five years? What do you see yourself getting excited about? What provokes you to do more research?

These are questions that I still ask myself today. Even after almost four years in college, I am trying to figure out my true passion and how I want to move forward with it. However, that is perfectly okay. There is no timeline when it comes to your personal brand. Life is all about time and you have plenty of time to thing of your thought process, your actions and results.

Start forming your personal brand through your online presence. Create social media accounts, connect with individuals who have share similarities and even some differences so you can expand your knowledge. Start writing on topics that hit home for you, that you need answers to. Follow some of your favorite blogs and watch videos that challenge your ideas and push you outside of your comfort zone.

I challenge you to be the best version of yourself.

SKIN REGIME

I have been blessed with healthy, normal skin and I’m so thankful for that! It is all due to my skin regime. Years back my skin was pretty dry and I was constantly feeling uncomfortable but I have found some great products that work for me and maybe could work for you too!

  • I wash my face twice a day with Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub. I use the daily scrub since it isn’t as harsh on my skin compared to other face washes with micro beads.
  • It cost a pretty penny but is so worth it! My mom bought me a Clarisonic Mia 1 last Christmas and it has cleared up my face so much! It’s amazing how much makeup and dirt it gets off your face. Before using my Clarisonic, I would just wash my face with face wash, apply moisturizer and call it a night. This is a great gift to ask for your birthday, Christmas or to splurge on yourself after payday.
  • Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! When you scrub your face with any face wash, yes you are scrubbing away all of the day’s dirt and makeup residue, however, you are also stripping away your skin’s natural oils. That is why it is so important to replenish your skin with a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin. I have normal skin, so I’ve found that one of the best moisturizers for me is Cetaphil Daily Face Moisturizer.  A little goes a long way so only add a pea size amount to your face. They also have full body moisturizers as well that I use.
  • An natural product that can be found in your kitchen is coconut oil. I feel like over the last year, coconut oil has really blew up all throughout the media. It’s so inexpensive and easy to purchase at your local grocery store and the best part of it is, is that it’s so versatile. Add a little to your hair before bed to add some moisture to dry hair. Add a pea size amount on your face after you wash your face. After a hot shower (where your pores have opened up), lather coconut all over your body and you’ll feel so silky and smooth. You can even cook with it!

Hopefully this list of products helps you to achieve the skin you want!
